Love of dogs and a desire to help them on to better lives brought a few people together who had been doing rescue work on their own. Peace, Love & Pets has applied for 501c3 status! Julia Sharp is a dog crusader and amazingly courageous rescuer!
Our common goal is to rescue dogs that suffer at the hands of cruel or ignorant owners, owner give-aways, or those that are homeless. We are a small group of volunteers who work full time jobs and try to help as many dogs as we can when we can. We board most of the dogs we take in from local shelters and vets and foster others in our homes. By helping as many dogs as we can, we keep them from being brought to various societies or kill shelters where thousands of dogs are put to death. With very limited resources, we try to medicate, socialize, and place dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes into homes as quickly as possible.

All of our dogs have the recommended and legally required preventative inoculations and are spayed or neutered to control the repetitive birth cycle that produces more unwanted dogs. The prospective owners are interviewed, properly matched with their dog, and most proposed living quarters are inspected for safety and suitability.
Remember the old adage, “many hands make the work load lighter.” We are always looking for volunteers to foster a dog or to help with fundraising of any kind to help defray the costs of medical care, dog food, and other associated expenses. If many humane people join our network of rescuers and contributors and each commits to help just a little bit, it will help immensely. And once you have had the joy of seeing a sad, confused, lonely dog become a happy, safe, loved pet, you will know why we put all of our own personal time, money, emotion, and energy into rescuing those loyal souls and you, too, will be a Dog’s Best Friend.
